Awards & Recognition

The employees of Emergency Medical Care Inc. are consistently recognized for their accomplishments, both in their communities and in their daily activities.

Some of the awards our employees have received include the Tema Conter Memorial Trust Scholarship (recognizing emergency services students who show a dedication to critical incident stress management) and the Emergency Medical Exemplary Service Medal (a national honour recognizing pre-hospital emergency services personnel who have made outstanding contributions to their field).

We also offer a scholarship program through EMC for our own employees. The John Rossiter Memorial Scholarship program (created in honour of EMC paramedic John Rossiter, who was killed in the line of duty during Hurricane Juan in 2003) offers financial assistance to EHS-registered paramedics who are pursuing further education in the field of paramedicine. We are pleased to count Medical Mart Atlantic among the scholarship sponsors for this program as well. Since the program’s inception in 2004, we have provided more than $27,000 in funding to 18 recipients.

Our organization has also received commendations for our service. In 2007, we received the Better Business Bureau Maritime Business Ethics Award in recognition of our high ethical and professional standards.
