Improved 911 Cellphone Service for Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia's 911 emergency service can more easily trace the location of cellphone callers in an emergency.
The Enhanced Cellular 911 system provincewide launch follows extensive testing and collaboration between the wireless industry and the Emergency Management Office.
As with all emergency calls, it is important for callers to try to provide their exact location to emergency call takers.
Emergency Management Office Minister Ramona Jennex says Nova Scotia is one of the first in Canada to offer this public safety service provincewide.
